miniatur orchester presents its brilliant debut album
"pro specie rara" - a colourful bouquet of rare stylistic absurdities and a convolution of collective lyrical flora: beats created by the two drummers simon fankhauser and dominic egli are the basis on which saxophone player/composer araxi karnusian has structured 17 miniature pieces.
shrill clarinets team up with quirky brass, an eccentric saxophone and two rumbling drums to spark a dazzling percussive firework of fast-changing moods. domenic landolf lets his virtuoso clarinet dance and prance, matthias spillmann blares like mad passionate lines, lukas roos puffs deep woody tones, silvio cadotsch takes an animated slideride, araxi karnusian's mighty tenor roar soars into hymnic realms, while simon fankhauser brushes and stomps and dominic egli purrs and romps.
